| So you're planning to tackle Washington's famed Wonderland Trail this summer? Or maybe you're heading to South America for a little jungle boogie? Alaska, you say? Whatever the trek, the more rugged the better for the Chaco Beckwith. This boot features outstanding ankle support, especially around the Achilles tendon for those steep descents. Waterproof nubuck leather uppers are soft and comfy and ensure your feet stay warm and dry. With an orthotic-inspired footbed and the flexibility of a polyurethane midsole, these boots conform to your feet, reducing fatigue as you log those tough miles from Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar. |

Reviews:
Chaco Beckwith Backpacking Boots I was looking for a sturdy yet lightweight backpacking boot with great ankle support for a rocky trail to a backpacking destination in Montana's Crazy Mountains. The Chacos were lighter and more nimble than my regular Zamberlain backpackers, offered more ankle support, and best of all they fit beautifully right out of the box. I gave them one day-hike break-in, and was able to use them with absolute comfort while carrying a 25 pound pack over loose rock, and hilly and rocky terrain that climbed steadily for 4 miles, with some stream crossings (but not total immersion). I wear Lowa Renegade day-hikers and have always been thrilled with their comfort and durability, so I had high expectations. I am very impressed with the Chaco Beckwiths--great fit, easy break-in, terrific support while bearing weight over challenging terrain, terrific on descents, too. I plan to try them on snowshoeing expeditions in the mountains this winterbecause of their excellent mix of firm support and flex.
Chaco Beckwith hiking boots I've had the Chaco hiking boots for 3 weeks now. They have a very nice arch in them and are comfortable. The tongue does squeek slightly. The first time wearing them we did a uphill steep hike for 3 1/2 miles and I got blisters before I felt the rubbing. I should have broken them in slower I guess. Going downhill they were wonderful as your toes don't get jammed into the tops and footing was secure.
Squeaky Clean The good…I love the boots they feel great and have been easy to break in (no blisters). Awesome ankle support, great arch support, and supper lite. The bad…Keep in mind I am still breaking them in but if you are wanting to enjoy the animals in nature better wait for these boots to break in because the leather tongue on the leather upper is a little squeaky. The more I wear them the quieter they get. Happy trails!
Beckwith Hiking Boot - Women's Having experienced the Chaco sandals, I knew that the hiking boot would be a shoe-in. Went on an hour and a half mountain biking trail hike with my golden retriever, Moose, the very first time I wore the boots. They are very comfy, with great traction and ankle support without being clunky or heavy. Awesome!
love these boots I hiked for a week in torres del paine, chile with no complaints. I broke them in on a few 2 hour hikes before the trip, but they didn't seem to need any breaking in at all. Yes they do squeak a bit, but were very light and comfortable. I wore smartwool hiking socks the whole time, which may have helped.
