Heli Backpack - 660 cu in
The DAKINE Heli Pack is now DAKINE's most streamlined touring pack. It's just the right size for the essentials. With its thin profile and close fit, the Heli is as awesome for chair riding as it is for ridge hiking. It's PERFECT for heli runs, should you be so lucky. Backcountry detailing includes: diagonal ski carry, vertical snowboard carry, a quick-access shovel blade pocket, and zippered tool pocket. The shovel pocket now has a small bottom cutout to prevent snow and water build-up. There's just enough room to stash your skins, probe, and some snacky treats inside. The Heli Pack is also hydration compatible. If you're a minimalist whose backcountry routine is super dialed, the Heli is a great pack for local day-touring.

DAKINE Heli Backpack - 660 cu in

Bottom Line: Superb for a day at the resort, and for the minimalist backcountry rider.

Heli Pack
I got the heli pack before the winter season. I was a little worried about the size, because I'm not a big guy. When i first got to use it, I was amazed at how well it moved with my body. Turns and all. Can't wait till I can actually use it on a heli trip. I love shopping at Backcountry.com

DaKine Heli Pack
This pack is perfect for what I want. It holds my shovel, some tools, chapstick, and my camelbak hydro unit. It isn't very cumbersome and feels great. Perfect for everyday runs on the mountain.

Needs altering for girls
Great little pack. Although the strap system is not very girl-friendly (and by girl friendly I mean compatibility with the upper sports bra region) on account of the chest strap. It would be fine if one could move the chest strap higher up on the shoulder straps, so they attach higher across the chest, but they don't go high enough on account of the gear loops. I will probably try to remove some stitching so the straps can slide higher and hopefully the whole things fits better. (Right now I can't put the shoulder straps where they should be cause the chest strap would be all weird). Otherwise, it's a great little pack and I’m sure dudes have no issues with the chest strap. It's perfect for in bounds use and perfect for short OB hikes from the resort. I have also used it hiking in the spring/summer and it works especially well here for post-season ski-recovery. The diagonal ski carry is great, too. Quick and easy.

Skiing pack
Wicked tough pack. Awesome.
