| The Grivel G14 Crampomatic is intended for bona fide mountaineering boots including plastic tele boots. This crampon combines the technical performance of forged, vertical frontpoints with a low profile, collapsible frame to make a modular, customizable crampon suited to many climbing disciplines. Forged points penetrate hard ice better with less vibration and offer the opportunity to combine vertical and horizontal axes. Front points are simple to configure on the G14, allowing the user to build mono or dual point crampons and replace worn points easily. The low profile frame places the climber's foot closer to rock or ice, and is less prone to balling up. At last, alpine climbing crampons with the technical performance of their ice and modern mixed counterparts. |

Reviews:
Go mono These crampons are awesome. They are lighter than the bionics and have longer secondary points. The mono is the way to go if you like steep ice or mixed. With the mono, these crampons fit boots with some rocker built into the sole the best. My Trango Extremes have a flat sole and the front point really pushes into the front of the sole for a less than perfect fit. Most boots have more rocker than Trangos.
Grivel G14 Crampons Awesome set of crampons. I've already put them to use on some waterfall ice and steep traverse up Mt. Washington. They came through with flying colors. Would not hesitate to buy again.
I love 'em!! I used these in the Ouray Ice Park last spring for a few days, and on a couple couloir routes on Colorado 14ers. They worked great on both vertical waterfall ice and 45 degree alpine ice/snow. The front points penetrated and held great on the vert. ice, with no slips the entire 3 days I was in the park. Haven't tried the monopoint yet. They fit Scarpa Alphas, Koflach Degrees, and La Sportiva Nepal Extremes very well. I really like the step-in/strap combo binding system with the safety strap on the toe bail. They've always remained tight to my boots after hours upon hours of use.
