Reviews:

Trail Audio has potential
Highgear's trail audio is functional but has its downfalls. The carabiner clip is an attractive feature. The USB hook-up is a plus and downloading music onto player is easy. I found a "bug" with advancing songs when the player is currently playing a song. It tends to "freeze" or "half-fast-forward" which is annoying because you have to turn the player off to correct it. The player shuts off with jarring or bumps. It would have been an awesome player had they included music folders! The ability to add different genre’s would have been be nice. The ability to erase all songs for quick erasing would be nice.{poorCommands=highgear.SoftwareDesign();} //Little joke for designersIf this player is geared for outdoors, it's not geared for climbers! All in all if you market something for outdoor use, YOU BETTER BACK IT UP!

My first MP3 player
I did a fair amount of research via the internet before choosing the Trail Audio. Factors involved: FM radio, small-ish size, apparent sturdy design, the LCD screen and cost. As it is my first/only MP3 player, I do not have anything to compare it to, but I like the way it works and sounds. The drag and drop system for music files is simple. It's been a great boost for my running.

Trail Audio
I purchased the Highgear Trail Audio in May, 2005. I love it. Storage is more than enough(512kb). Battery life is excellent, and weight great. The only thing I could improve is the headphones, I feel an earbud would be lighter and less restrictive, the behind the neck strap tends to hit my pack or rain hat. Did I mention water resistant, probably the best feature. Thanks for a great product. A++.
