| Linken bindings are designed for use with modern boots and skis. They are built to dominate deep backcountry powder, high-speed cruisers, and the occasional cliff huck. Cable bindings only offer power transfer from the toe piece. The Linken binding combines the toe-piece with the heel-ski interface to transfer power at two points. This design creates improved control of the shovel and tail of the ski, adding stability and precision to your skiing. The high performance plate design creates a torsionally stiff binding for maximum edge control and the step-in feature finally brings alpine binding features to the free-heel world. The pre-load can be adjusted for all skier types and conditions, and the standard binding fits virtually every boot size. New for 2003-2004, Linken upgraded the toe bar design and materials. The new design will prevent bending and breakage, making the Linken binding one of the strongest on the market. |

Reviews:
Drilling Holes/Setting Heel Bale My Linken's are performing great - solid feel, easy in and out, strong edge hold. It took a few runs for me to get them dialed, though. First, be careful about the size of the holes you drill. Make sure you practice drilling on a piece of scrap first to get the hole diameter on target. Don't completely trust the instructions on this... I pulled my binding out of my ski 3/4 of the way up Mad River Glen, and ended up having to use inserts to re-mount the binding. On another note, set the heel bale closer to the front of the binding than you might think. The spring under the binding will expand to accomodate your boot, then compress to hold you snug in the binding.
Specific uses These bindings are defintely made for hucking and skiing with your heels down. A much looser feel than other bindings, if that is what you are into. Not really the lightest for touring.
