| The Marmot Col is the answer for cold weather mountaineering trips. Rated to –20 degrees, it was built to keep you snug in the world's most unforgiving places. The Col is all about comfort in inhospitable environments. The 9-baffle chest section distributes down vertically over your core so the down's warmth stays put even when you don't. The 6-baffle hood fits the contours of your head to hold in all-important heat. And your precariously-located outermost extremities are protected by the 11-baffle foot box which keeps the insulation where it belongs. A down-filled draft tube acts as a barrier to gusts through the zipper. Just because you've chosen a chilly outpost doesn't mean you want to forego comfort. A Velcro®-free face muff and zipper guards help keep rigging out of your way. The “feely” draw cords reduce middle-of-the-night fumbling for adjustments. A hidden draft tube pocket holds your watch while you snooze so you can glance at the time during the night, or know where to find it when the alarm goes off. |

Bottom Line: When the warmest bag makes or breaks your survival, choose the Col. |
Reviews:
excellent cold weather sleeping bag I can't believe how small I can compress this cold weather bag. I guess that's the beauty of down. I've used my col in some pretty nasty weather and have yet to get cold. When you zip it up all the way, it closes up comfortably around your head. No cold air down your neck, yet there's a good space for breathing and checking out the stars.
Comfy Bag I live in Alaska and used this bag on numerous outings(all above 0 F). It's warm and lofts well. My only gripe is the zipper fouls if you get in too much of a hurry to close.
