The fifth generation of PreCip is 50% more waterproof and 20% more breathable thanks to the improved PreCip fabric construction and 2-layer Dry Touch technology. You'll stay drier than if you'd stayed in the car when you're wearing your PreCip. Other improvements include cleaner zipper lines, and smaller seams. The hood has been redesigned as an integration with the collar, and can roll up when not in use. The PitZips, seam taping and relaxed fit remain staples of the PreCip's construction. PreCip gives big bang for the bucks
I've been very impressed with my Marmot PreCip jacket so far. Luckily for me, it arrived about a week prior to Hurricane Isabel. We only saw the outer bands of the storm here, but the rains were pretty heavy. I was really wishing I had ordered the pants. The jacket never felt clammy or damp inside despite exertion. I plan to buy two more as gifts for my brothers. I've never seen a better rain shell for equal or better cost.

I am pleased with the jacket. It repels water well. I am currently living in Japan with unpredictable weather. the Jacket works great.
Best Little Rain Jacket
I have literally lived in this jacket for days at a time, and it has never let me down. It's completely waterproof but so light you almost forget it's there; plus it packs down so small you can bring it with you just about anywhere. The pockets are nice and high, and it's cut long enough to go over any pants and to give you a bit of a seat. It's a straight-forward, no-frills jacket but still cut nicely enough that you could wear it out in public without being embarrassed (if that's an issue). All in all, A+.
I LOVE this jacket!
The Precip Jacket is absolutely AWESOME. It really is designed for a women and fits well but allows total freedom of movement. I have also been out in complete downpours, riding horses in pouring rain for hours, and have NOT ever been wet. There's plenty of space for layers underneath, or you can wear it alone. It also packs into a TINY space. In short, it's perfect!
