Reviews:
EXCELLENT value This bag is a good performer within its limits. I've spent 2 nights in it, both in the 15-25 degree temperature range, and I was quite toasty. It doesnt have any of the extras of the more expensive models, but who really needs those? This is a good looking bag that performs well. My only complaint is that it doesnt come with a storage sack--and storing it in the stuff sack is NOT a good idea. But at $99, I can live with that!
Great bag for not a lot of money I bought this bag right about 1 year ago. I was headed out on a cross country bike ride in June and I wanted something that would get me through the cold June nights at higher altitudes we might run into, but not be too heavy. Well, this bag worked great. It always seemed to keep me warm, even the dreaded night of the sprinklers. We were sleeping in a baseball dugout in Wyoming and at midnight we wake up and we're already soaked because the sprinklers had turned on. By the time my friend figured to put the trash can on top of the sprinkler our stuff was thoroughly soaked. However I slept through the rest of the night wet but warm, while my two friends froze their butts off and had to take naps at 6am when the sun came up. I recommend a compression sack if you want it to be small.
Mt. Leconte I purchased this bag at the end of last summer and have slept in it many times. The real test though was when I took a trip up there in the middle or January. After the sun went down it easily dropped below zero. I had a liner and boiled some water in a water bottle and placed it in my bag. I stayed warm the whole night. It is a good quality bag and is well worth the money. A little heavy, but it was worth it. thanks
Another satisfied customer... As if there aren't already enough good reviews of this bag... Take it from yet another happy customer, this bag is amazing for the money. Super warm, looks cool, and man, just TRY to get this zipper snagged!! My favorite feature of this bag is the heavy fabric surrounding the zipper. I'm a long-time "el cheapo" sleeping bag buyer. Now I can still feel like a cheapskate but reap the benefits of a real quality bag. Are you sure you got the price right on this one, Backcountry?
thanks At first I didn't like how the zipper went all the way to the feet, but then I used it and the zipper is pretty strong - it won’t unzip and doesn't let cold air through. I’m glad that I went through you guys and I will enjoy my bag. I’m headed up to Alaska for the army and on my weekends I’m going to backpack and this bag will be perfect. Thanks a lot.
