Day Lumbar Pack - 1150cu in
The Mountainsmith Day Lumbar Pack will comfortably haul your gear on any length day hike you dare undertake. Ultimate freedom of movement is the payoff for carrying a lumbar pack—and the Day is expertly equipped to ensure the big loads it can carry are evenly distributed and compressed securely against your body. Mountainsmith consistently comes up with nice touches to their gear, like an Omni Belt that easily handles heavy loads, then tucks out of sight for convenience. 32 ounce Nalgene bottles fit easily in the Day's mesh water bottle pockets. For those days you don't feel like completely saddling up, grab the dual carry handles for use as a briefcase in more urban adventures. A removable, padded shoulder strap converts the Mountainsmith Day pack into a sling bag.

Mountainsmith Day Lumbar Pack - 1150cu in

Bottom Line: A monster lumbar pack that'll hold big loads comfortably.

Reviews:

Mountainsmith Day Lumbar
This day rig is rated the best in its class. Personally, I like the older model day pack, without the padding in the lumbar section. It seems to create a very snug fit to any torso. I challenge a minimalist to get the Strapettes and try this pack on a weekend trip. I plan to do this in the future. It is composed of rugged fabric, and the separate compartments allow you to carry anything you can imagine. I have used this pack from school to day hikes, and it has out performed my expectations. I advise one to stick with Mountainsmith in the Lumbar section.
