33oz Red Fuel Bottle
MSR Fuel Bottles are made from a single piece of impact-extruded aluminum to prevent leaks and cracks. Here's more of what makes them so bomber: These fuel bottles are designed with thicker aluminum at the bottle's base and shoulders to resist bulging when pressurized. Holes in the bottle cap shaft allow a measured flow and prevent spills. An air-tight seal allows fuel to be stored longer by preventing air from entering and degrading fuel. As a bonus, your MSR fuel pump fits inside a depressurized bottle for ease of transport. FUEL BOTTLES DO NOT CONTAIN FUEL ITSELF which can be obtained at most outdoor shops in your area or on the way to the trailhead. Volume: 33oz / 975ml; Weight with cap: 7.3oz/207g

MSR 33oz Red Fuel Bottle

Reviews:

30 oz. capacity
Bottle has a sturdy feel, yet light weight. The O-ring seals work fine. The bottle holds 33 oz., but there is a line which one is not to fill beyond. This line is at 30 oz. This is not a problem by itself, but it causes a difficulty when estimating how much fuel one needs using the MSR specs. The specs for some of the MSR stoves are in terms of using a 22 oz. fuel bottle. The question is how much fuel was in this 22 oz. bottle—20 oz.? If so, then one can use the spec. to estimate fuel requirements for the 33 oz. bottle. Even if this issue is not resolved, at most this introduces a 10% ambiguity in fuel requirement estimates and so for most campers this is nothing to worry about—just bring another 10% more fuel to be safe.

It's only a fuel bottle -- but a big one!
If you're buying an extra MSR bottle for kayaking, get this one. My old Whisperlite burns for hours using this bottle. Having to consider throwing away the Isobutane containers used for some other stoves really burns me so I stick with my 20 year old stove that still works like a champ. You can still transport empty bottles in your airline bag: air the bottles, take off the caps & secure, and place bottles on the top for TSA to find if they open your luggage. Aloha!

My first stove
This is my first fuel bottle (used with the MSR Whisperlist stove), and I have to say that I'm very impressed and happy with it. I decided to go with the liquid fuel ("white gas") because I heard that it burns more slowly and lasts longer, which seems to be true. The rate I was going, I could've cooked for a week on this single 33oz. bottle of fuel. I had luck finding fuel at Walmart and a local hardware store in their camping sections.
