| The MSR WindPro Stove will let you stop worrying about the wind when using fuel canisters instead of liquid fuel. In fact, the MSR WindPro stove worked better in wind tests than all its canister competitors. And it is the only remote canister stove sold complete with a windscreen and heat reflector. Plus, it's the lightest remote canister stove on the market. ***MSR STOVES DO NOT COME WITH FUEL OR FUEL BOTTLES. |

Reviews:
A great stove! I've been using an MSR Whisperlite for years. Finally got fed up with priming and pumping. The WindPro works great. A four oz. fuel canister will cook 10 meals (for me, a meal is bringing 2 cups of water to a boil and simmering for 10 minutes).
MSR WindPro Lives Up to Its Name I am relatively new at backpacking, but was intrigued by the many positive reviews received by the MSR WindPro stove. It was one of the best gear investments I could have made.I put the MSR WindPro to my own true test while camping in the blustery conditions of Lake Superior near Gooseberry Falls in Northern Minnesota. The MSR WindPro Stove comes with its own little windscreen. The windscreen folds up along with the stove, neatly into the little stuff bag, that is included with the purchase. There is ample room for an isobutane canister in the stuff bag, as well. The MSR WindPro's stability was proven, repeatedly, when I brewed coffee, and heated water in the extremely windy conditions off the lake shore. Easy access to the flame adjustment knob without disturbing the pot, ample stability, and the Wind Shield make the MSR WindPro stove truly what its name implies.
Excellent for short backpacking trips. I purchased this stove due to the small weight, size and ease of use. It requires much less hassle (maintenance, priming, cleaning, pressurizing) than a liquid stove. Since I primarily go on weekend hikes, this fit the bill perfectly. This setup is excellent for short (1-2) night backpacking trips in above freezing areas. WARNING: Fuel canisters will not work below freezing. Even fuels labeled for cold weather (80/20 iso blend) require that you put the canister in 1-2in of water during use to avoid freezing. Also, there is no good indicator for the fuel level for these canisters - Brunton makes a "Gas Gauge" that can read the amount, but at a buck a piece and single use only, just buy a new canister if unsure.
MSR WindPro Stove A great little stove. It's very stable and cooks fast. I especially like the windscreen. I just wish the fuel was more available.
