Ceres 70 Backpack - 4100 cu in
With the Ceres 70, you'll be able to spend days in the high mountains without a care in the world. 4300(ish) cubic inches of capacity provides plenty of room for gear that needs to stay safe and dry. Mixed alpine climbers need quick access to different tools, so the Ceres 70 comes equipped with dual ice tool tubes, an oversized shovel pocket, large fabric water bottle pockets, and built-in gear loops on the hipbelt. Side cam straps and loops hold your skis, or you can carry your skis or snowboard on the front with Osprey's tight StraightJacket compression. A removable floating top pocket accommodates overloads, and a removable frame sheet and 2/3-length stay help support all this weight. Adjust your fit with three harness sizes and a built-in ErgoPull hipbelt.

Osprey Ceres 70 Pack
This is an excellent pack. Been out on a couple bc ski tours with it so far, as well as some load-carrying hikes for montaineering training. The pack's narrow profile keeps it out of the way when skiing, and fits very snug. Quite light for a full-featured pack as well. This is my first Osprey pack (have mtnsmith, Arcteryx, Madden as well) and the fit is superior. A huge plus is the compression system, as well as ample external space for easy storage/access of shovel, probe, etc. Looking forward to many adventures with this pack.

24 to 72hr. do-all
I have been getting by for some time with three different packs for search and rescue missions spanning two to four days. Since I'm a k9 handler, I need to carry all needed gear and supplies as well as what the dog needs. The Ceres 70 is the pack I've been looking for. It will handle any season, small to larger loads and is rescue orange to boot. The great compression system and ability to carry skis, snowshoes, shovel, rope, whatever a Sierra SAR mission requires and the hydration system (good for dog) sold me. The fact that it carries well off trail is a great bonus. I generally keep the weight down to under 35lb, often only 20lb or so, but it will handle a heavier load. Other than my day pack, it's just about the only pack I need.
